“The Strangest Secret” towards my Success. An Earl Nightingale tale.
I decided to take on a challenge at the suggestion of Earl upon listening to his recording from 1956.
What Do You Want? Think about your goal as if you had already achieved it.
Earl goes on to say, first “our rewards in life will always be in exact proportion to our contribution, our service.” Second, “we are the total of our thoughts. Thoughts mold our lives and determine our future.”
“We are guided by our minds first and foremost. Knock. Seek, and the door will open.”
What did I want for my 30-day goal? I wanted success! I had no idea what that would look like or what form it would come. It was clear that I wanted to find something I could “dream up” that could help clients manage back pain, shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle pain. Pain walked through my door every day. I helped many, but others went from therapies, drugs and through inevitable and invasive procedures. The insight I gained was, my clients still hurt somewhere else. The syndrome is relentless at any age.
Many clients have benefitted from resistance training, Pilates and incorporating the “Be Activated” muscle activation system. There is a certain amount of the populations that do not under any circumstances want to be poked or prodded. These are probably some of the individuals that need this form of healing system the most and will never experience its tremendous benefits. I wanted to develop a solution to this problem for the “non-touchy-feely folks” and those I could not physically work with through the internet. How would an individual find or learn about “Activation” if they did not know what it was or how to get it? Unless you go to a Specialist like me, you would probably never receive the possibilities of acquiring this type of transformation.
In my 20 plus years of experience, there were clients I did not have answers. We rode the roller coaster ride of chronic pain that included: Parkinson's, MS, Scoliosis, elderly, athletes and the list goes on. Sometimes we train together in laughter and other times with tears.
I began learning new ways to move clients. Now, I ultimately needed to draw more conclusions from my experience. In Pilates, we move from all angles. Movement is three dimensional. There are progressive patterns of movement. (flexion, extension, side bend, twist, and torsion) In the Muscle Activation System, we address painful movement as a “poor movement pattern.” The solution is to manipulate or interrupt the compensating pattern. We “re-set” overused and underused muscles in the body that lead to pain and injury. These principals prove to be a successful process for many individuals who see me!
A Dream Come True!
It was fall of 2014 that my dream became a reality. It was on the morning of day #27 or my 30 day challenge; I sat straight up in bed with an audible gasp! I jumped out and said, “I’ve got it! (with a few expletives). I don’t know if I dreamed it or was thinking about it before waking up. My follow up words out loud, “This is going to be a gift to the world!” On this day, Born was my Bungi Gym System using the Butt Bungi that attaches to a door.
Since 2014, my innovative Bungi Gym System has helped individuals too numerous to count!
